I ran across this article this morning and it's just been on my mind all day. I won't post the picture for those with a queasy stomach but will link to the article if you'd like to read it... just keep in mind that the picture is somewhat graphic.
You can click here to read...
For those of you who would rather not read it;
The article is about a funeral service for a baby girl who was killed in a late-term abortion and the picture is of that tiny baby in an open casket.
Yep, I said it. ABORTION; the thing no one wants to talk about but everyone has a strong opinion about.
Believe what you want about the 'A' word but I don't know a soul out there who can look at that picture and argue that this sweet girl is indeed just that; a sweet, precious, baby girl.
Wanna know why this makes me so sad? Why I'm so passionate about it? Why I felt the need to share with you?
Because we would have done ANYTHING, under ANY circumstance to be that baby-girls family. And if we weren't the right family, I know a hundred others who would have done the same.
That hurts my heart so much.
I wonder; what made her mother feel so hopeless that the best option she could find was abortion? It was late-term... was she uncertain? Maybe until the very last moment?
Regardless, that baby-angel is in Heaven and I look forward to the day when I can give her a hug!
We pray for our next baby's first mom and dad each and every day; one of these days (or one already passed) they will be faced with the exact same decision as this baby's mom and dad.
I'm so thankful to already know the outcome of their painful decision...
Life.
